The Princess Theatre is a theatre which is situated in Australia. It is a 1488-seated theatre. It is one the oldest continuous amusement site on the mainland of Australia. This theatre was completed in 1886 at the cost of 50,000 £. it is situated in Melbourne’s East End Theatre District, in Australia. This theatre was constructed by Charles Coppin in 1854. Nowadays this theatre is owned by David Marriner. This theatre is also listed by the National Trust of Australia and is on Victorian Heritage Register.

This was the first theatre where “Phantom of the Opera” was shown. It was one of the longest play shown in Victoria.

This place is also considered as one of the most haunted places in the world.

Story of The Princess Theater

In 1888, a person named Frederick (a British/Italian actor) had traveled a globe with the acting company ‘D’, along with rest of the cast. The acting company ‘D’ was acting in plays throughout the USA.

During the final play in The Princess Theatre, Dr. Faustus Baker would be lowered down through the stage via a trap door in a basement below the stage. As this happens, Frederick Baker was overcome by the play and suffered by a heart failure.

Since then, after Frederick death, the ghost of Frederick Baker is usually seen in the Princess Theatre. His ghost-like to appear in the play, and usually in the dressing rooms.

Due to all these paranormal activities, The Princess Theatre is considered as one of the most haunted places in the World.
